Our Story 

We know that construction and remodeling projects can be one of the most stressful times in your life. We also know that hiring the right contractor can drastically reduce the stress during that project. B & R Homes was started because we saw that there was a need for more skilled contractors that you can trust to do the job right the first time. 

As a family owned and operated business, B & R Homes combines over 40 years of experience in the construction and real estate industry. With our vast experience, we provide our clients with consultation, project management and design services, along with building and remodeling homes.

Our Team

Rick Babcock

Owner, General Contractor

Rick Babcock has over 40 years of experience in the construction industry, which includes over 30 years being licensed as a General Contractor. 

His experience includes: building custom homes, building track homes, remodeling homes and serving as superintendent on numerous job sites. 

As owner of B & R Homes, Rick will be the lead contractor on all job sites. He will use his experience to ensure that the job is built correctly and is built to code.  

Rick began his career working in construction along the front range of Colorado. He soon moved to Summit County where he had the opportunity to work on condos, apartments, homes and commercial buildings. During the late 80’s he moved back to Colorado Springs where he continued working in the trade. 

He spent 1990-1999 working in Las Vegas, Nev., during the housing boom. While in Las Vegas, he was a leading framer on many custom and track homes, and served as a superintendent. He also owned his own construction business, Cutting Edge. 

In 2000, he and his family moved back to Colorado to be closer to family. He has spent the past 20 years as a general contractor and owner of Babcock Construction.  

Rick and his wife Carolyn live in Denver, Colo., and have three children: Kyle, Bryan and Brooke. During his spare time Rick enjoys music, skiing, hiking, and fishing.

Brooke Babcock

Owner, Design and Business Operations

Brooke Babcock has been around the construction industry her entire life. She is a third-generation construction worker behind her father Rick and grandfather Richard, who have worked a combined 80 years in the field. 

Prior to starting B & R Homes, Brooke was a business manager for a tech startup company, along with being a licensed real estate agent. She also had experience in designing new builds and housing flips for her family. 

With her passion and eye for design, Brooke will aid in the design process of each project for B & R Homes. She will also run the business and social media side of the company. 

Brooke spent 2017-2019 working as the Business Manager at Amplify Sports. There she ran the daily operations of the company as well as aiding in the design and writing of the company’s website and other media materials. 

In September 2019, Brooke decided to switch her full focus to the construction industry. She has previous experience in the housing industry as a licensed realtor in Colorado since 2013. Her experience in real estate allows her to consult clients in what areas are best to update for maximum profit. 

Previous to her role at Amplify Sports, Brooke had experience as an athletic media relations assistant at Colorado College, the University of New Mexico and the University of Colorado Colorado Springs. In her roles, she wrote press releases, conducted interviews and handled game-day statistics. 

Brooke holds a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and has a master’s degree in Sport Administration. She lives in Denver, Colo., where she loves to hike, paddle board and practice her photography. She also enjoys traveling and playing volleyball.

Carolyn Babcock

Accountant

Carolyn Babcock has over 30 years of experience in bookkeeping for numerous companies, including almost a decade as an accountant. 

In her role at B & R Homes, Carolyn will serve as the accountant and will ensure all financial operations run successfully.

Previously, Carolyn worked as a bookkeeper and managed the office operations for Plant Engineering Consultants. She has also been an accountant and bookkeeper for Babcock Construction and various churches. 

Carolyn received her bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Regis University.

Carolyn lives in Denver with her husband Rick and is the mother of Kyle, Bryan and Brooke. When not at work, Carolyn enjoys spending time with her family and traveling. She also enjoys crocheting and reading.
